The next time you’re in Birmingham, try and squeeze in a trip to Dudley Zoo. Home to hundreds of fascinating animals, the award-winning zoological gardens comprise 40 acres of land surrounding an impressive 11th-century castle in the Black Country. The castle itself is a site of some note – it incorporates the largest single collection of Tecton buildings on the planet. First opened to the public in 1937, the zoo has built a strong reputation for conservation and animal welfare. Nowadays, the facility is home to all manner of animals, from African hunting dogs and lions to tigers, penguins and white-faced saki monkeys. Be A Zookeeper experience lets you get up close and personal with some of the most endangered animals in the world. Our aim is to provide our visitors, via our education and conservation activities, with an understanding and awareness of all elements of this unique site, and the opportunity to get closer to the world’s rarest animals. Who knows, after a day spent working alongside a zookeeper, you might even be tempted to make an unexpected career move!

Visited Dudley Zoo today and what can I say…wow just wow! we had so many special moments with so many of the animals, I could have sat and watched them all for hours and hours. It has been years since I last came here but this without a doubt will be my go to zoo from now on. Loved it so much I just had to write a review.
Nice little zoo. Not too pricey. Interesting talks. Free train up and down the hill.
