Sabai Sabai is a family-run Thai restaurant and wine bar with outposts in both the Harborne and Moseley districts of Birmingham. Since opening in 2003, the eatery has carved out a stellar reputation for first-rate Thai food, generous in its portions, and faultless customer service. You’ll find the purple storefront of the original Moseley branch wedged between a pub and a row of convenience shops in Woodbridge Road, but inside diners are transported to the Land of Smiles. There may only be 25 covers, but what the restaurant lacks in space, it more than makes up for in service and quality. The menu is extensive, delivering all the best-loved Thai staples like chicken satay, pad thai and red curry. However, there’s plenty of surprises in the form of jungle curry, holy basil stir fry and delectable sweetcorn cakes. The Harborne restaurant, which resides on High Street, offers more of the same, though the modern decor is a touch airier than its counterpart; the restaurant is bigger, too. There’s not a lot to choose between the food, it must be said, but why not check out both and make up your own mind? When it’s this good, Thai food never tires.
