When is a tea house not a tea house? When it’s a restaurant. Belying its name, this Larbert eatery specialises in Chinese cuisine that’s infused with colour, flavour and rich aromas. The fully licensed establishment, situated on Stirling Road, also offers a takeaway and home delivery service. For the full experience however you need to step inside, take a seat and await the banquet that’s freshly prepared to order. Lunch and early evening menus include a good selection of dishes from the main menu and favourable prices. It may sound axiomatic, but The Tea House puts food first: their chief concern is creating the finest oriental fare, crammed with Eastern flavours and Oriental nous. Dishes are made with aromatic Thai spices and traditional Chinese recipes; there’s also room for fiery Malaysian curries. House specials include fillet steak served Cantonese style, and quick-fried fillet of lamb with garlic and spring onions. Flavours from across Asia are represented, including Japanese teriyaki chicken and Malaysian sambal, made with water chestnuts and spicy shrimp paste. It’s not the scope of the menu that defines The Tea House however: it’s the quality and freshness of the ingredients, coupled with meticulous attention-to-detail. Take your pick and tuck in.

My partner and I visited here to have lunch recently. We both had the two course meal and our meal was fantastic. it was a friendly atmosphere, the staff was helpful and friendly, complimentary tea and prawn crackers. Value for money and I would recommend it to anyone.

Wide selection of tea and freshly baked cakes. They also have gluten free, dairy free and vegan options available if you ask the very attentative and friendly staff.
