Tucked away on Ashton Lane, just off Byers Road, the West End bar promises an authentic slice of Belgium without the need to book a budget airfare to Bruges. Serious beer buffs will be in heaven as they eye an extensive menu that’s packed with offerings from the likes of La Chouffe and Fruli as well as non-Belgian labels such as Sierra Nevada. The bar bills itself as Ashton Lane’s most magical venue, and it may have a point: glimmering fairy lights and hot air balloon lamps lend the bar an otherworldly feel, while a stove-warmed conservatory and bijou garden beckon invitingly. Ordering a sizzling pan of mussels with fries to dip, washed down with a Belgian craft beer or two, before finishing with waffles and ice cream. Bliss.
