Johnston’s is a thriving Falkirk bar that vows to deliver ‘the very best social experience’. Open from 9am every day of the week, the bar serves as a cafe and diner that provides a cosy spot in which to savour a coffee while perusing the newspapers or simply watching the world go by. Should you get peckish mid-morning, there’s always the prospect of a croissant, pain au chocolat or freshly baked scone to tempt you. The bar naturally features a wide range of wines, spirits and ice-cold beers alongside an accomplished food menu. Johnston’s mezzanine restaurant serves up fresh fare that’s created using locally-sourced ingredients. Lunch and dinner menus combine Scottish cuisine with Mediterranean influences; choose from pasta and risotto, seafood, steak, burgers and traditional pub fare. While head chef Izzy Kerr and her team focus on cooking up appetising cuisine, the bar staff mix up cocktails from an extensive menu that includes all the classics, from the mojito to its signature Johnston’s Dream, made with Grey Goose Vodka, blue curacao, fresh lemon juice and lemonade. On the last Saturday of every month, live music is hosted in the bar, featuring local and up and coming artists.

Came here for lunch. The restaurant was quite busy but we got seated after about ten minutes. We waited in the bar in the meantime and our server carried our drinks from the bar area to our table when she was seating us...nice touch. The food was excellent. I had black pudding fritters then the haggis, then the sticky toffee pudding. My dining companions had sandwiches. They were huge (the sandwiches, not my dining companions). Very reasonably priced and fantastic service. Good wine selection too. I'd definitely come back here.
