Auchrannie Country House Hotel is actually a stunning estate, comprising two hotels with 64 rooms and 30 self-catering lodges. It also has three fantastic restaurants, two leisure clubs, a children’s play-barn and a shop, so there’s more than enough to keep you busy during your stay. In addition, Auchrannie has been approved to start work on a destination spa and a further 40 bedrooms in the near future. This wonderful estate is too much for one mere family to run, but the Johnstons still have a large say in its day-to-day operations. If you’d like to book for the night, choose from a standard or executive room: each space comes with a comfortable bed lined with Egyptian cotton sheets, and Arran Aromatics toiletries are standard. If you want to upgrade to a sumptuous suite, expect a super king size bed and a bathtub big enough for two. When you’re hungry, choose from the Cruize Bar Brasserie, Brambles Seafood Grill or even Eighteen69. The latter restaurant is open seasonally, for you to sip chilled champagne in front of a roaring open fire, or stroll around the glasshouse overlooking the gardens.

Great facilities for toddlers, very family friendly, great rooms, loved the swimming pool, a great soft play, very attentive staff in Cruize, easy access from the ferry, good price for food in the soft play, would definitely like to stay again
