The Ship Inn is a venerable
establishment
that
is
synonymous with Stonehaven.
Beloved by the townsfolk,
frequented by tourists and
visited by Aberdonians craving
an evening away from the
city, the pub does a roaring
trade all the year round.
The historic building, built in
1771, comprises a traditional
restaurant and hotel. 11 en
suite bedrooms include two
family rooms, complete with
free wifi, heated mirrors and a
range of amenities. The Ship
Inn restaurant, known as the
Captain’s Table, serves locally
caught seafood including
scallops, prawns and fresh
haddock. Succulent Aberdeen
steaks can also be enjoyed in
the restaurant, alongside some
imaginative vegetarian options.
While the food is impressive,
it’s not the only reason why
the 38-seater restaurant is
invariably full; the spectacular
views across the bay certainly
add to the experience. No
trip to The Ship Inn would be
complete without a visit to the
lounge bar to sample a draught
beer, real ale or malt whisky.
With over 100 blends and
single malts to choose from,
there’s sure to be something
to put a smile on your face and
a fire in your belly. Afterwards,
take a walk along the harbour
while you watch the sun set;
the perfect end to a perfect day.
