Ignite is located directly across from
Haymarket train station, serving a range
of delicious Bengali and Indian cuisine. As
is often the case with Indian restaurants,
the menu is extensive but the staples and
favourites are all there for those who feel
most comfortable ordering what is familiar.
For those patrons who wish to try something
other than a curry, options include the murgh
kebab, a boneless barbecue chicken served
on skewers, or the tandoori lamb chops which
are marinated in spices and served with salad
and sauce. Ignite also serves an extensive
array of wines, both white and red, as well as
a number of high quality champagnes. If you
want to really push the boat out, a bottle of
Cristal Louis Roederer is all yours for £300.

Namaste, and a hearty welcome to Gautam’s. We
are a family restaurant with over 30 years in the
food industry with both of our chefs starting their
careers from small restaurants in Kathmandu,
Nepal. There, they began their education into
food, learning from every day street vendors to
top chefs at 5-star hotels before making their
migration to India to gain further experience. Their
time in Delhi was a milestone on their journey to
Dubai where they were exposed to a more diverse
customer base serving professionals from all over
the world as well as tourists from the west. Here
the two chefs separated and made their journey
to Ireland and Scotland separately and ultimately
met here in Edinburgh. That is their story, but now
let us take you on a journey of food right here
at Gautam’s as we explore and seek out new
flavours and re-discover old ones.
